Friends of Yemen call for more support

BERLIN, June 04 (Saba) – Friends of Yemen Group opened on Friday in Germany's capital Berlin a meeting on the latest political and economic developments in Yemen.

At the meeting launch, Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, Werner Hoyer, said that Yemen's stability is an urgent necessity, calling for more cooperation between regional and European countries to help the country.

Hoyer said the conference comes within interest in maintaining Yemen's stability.

The meeting organized in association with the United Arab Emirates UAE, the Arabian Gulf states that pledged to support Germany on Yemen's economic and political stability, aims to prevent the rule of violence in the country as well as protecting its unity and sovereignty, he said.

It will also review and evaluate the outcomes of the task group work and coordination over its functions.

Politicians and economists from around the world are attending the meeting, deemed completion of the January 27 London Summit on Yemen.

It was opened by Hoyer and UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Khalid Ghanim Al-Ghaith.
